Mass Humanities seeks a full time Administrative Assistant to join its ten-person staff based in Northampton, Massachusetts.
The Administrative Assistant’s primary responsibilities include supporting the Executive Director, managing administrative duties for the organization, scheduling meetings, event planning, data entry, meeting preparation, taking and writing meeting minutes, conducting research for staff and board, assisting Development in processing gifts and acknowledgement letters.
Some occasional travel in Massachusetts is required. Reliable transportation is necessary. The occasional evening and weekend availability is required.
This full-time position offers competitive salary and benefits, and is based at the organization’s Northampton office.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of administrative experience with a track-record of time-management, efficiency in clerical work and meeting preparation, data-entry, and the ability to conduct research. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent oral/written communications, will have a familiarity with the non-profit sector, and event-planning experience, proven proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google docs, and calendar applications.
Other preferred skills a plus: Raiser’s Edge, business writing, non-profit management, Spanish language, and familiarity with Massachusetts non-profit sector, political landscape, and cultural life.
