Gloucester Stage's 2018 Season is full of fabulous stories, steeped in history and classic literature. The Page2Stage book group through Sawyer Free Library will discuss William McFeely's award winning biography, "Frederick Douglass" followed by a production of Gloucester Stage's "The Agitators." This new play tells of the enduring but tempestuous friendship of Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglass. Young abolitionists when they met in Rochester in the 1840s, they were full of hopes, dreams, and a common purpose. They agitated the nation, they agitated each other and, in doing so, they helped shape the Constitution and the course of American history.
