The House of the Seven Gables was preserved and opened as a museum in 1910 by Caroline Emmerton. Miss Emmerton used proceeds from visitors to fun a settlement house that offered educational oppportunities for newly arriving immigrant families. Join one of our professional guides and Miss Emmerton for an interactive tour of The Gables and learn about why she was inspired by Hawthorne's works to preserve the mansion.
