The Leverett Historical Commission invites you to an adventure! Want to know more about the stone remnants along our many streams? Leverett's historic landscape includes the remains of more than fifty water-powered mills from the 1770's to the late 1800's. The event includes a visit to a mill site, a talk by UMass Lowell historian Robert Forrant, and a conversation on the past and future of Leverett's early industrial landscape. We will carpool from Leverett Library promptly at 1 pm. Dress to be outside and walk on wet or uneven terrain for the mill site visit. Around 2:15 pm we return to the Library for the rest of the program.
