This month’s event will feature a reading and discussion circle on the history and consequence of the effort to integrate public schools in Boston and throughout the country. The event will consist of facilitated discussion of former Boston Globe columnist Farah Stockman’s Pulitizer-Prize Winning series of commentaries on â€"Boston After Busing.” The discussion will help build an informed audience for a larger community-wide discussion and screening of the award-winning documentary "The Harvest," Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Douglas Blackmon’s exploration of desegregation in his hometown of Leland, Mississippi. This screening is hosted by the Mass Humanities and will take place at Hibernian Hall (184 Dudley St. Boston) on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 7:00-9:00 pm. More information and the readings can be downloaded from the Mass Humanities (masshumanities.org/programs/the-harvest/). Parking is available across the Square from the Mattapan MBTA (trolley/bus) stop.
