Happy 200th, Frederick Douglass!
Opportunities abound to celebrate the bicentennial
With African American abolitionist Frederick Douglass's commitment to equal justice still unrealized in 2018, his words and life are as relevant as ever. Help him live on by planning a Reading Frederick Douglass public event for this summer, with help from a discussion grant (inquiry deadline April 9); encouraging high schoolers you may know to submit a short creative piece to our high school Douglass project competition this spring; and visiting the Frederick Douglass Bicentennial Community site to get involved.
