Our mission at Mass Humanities is to enliven, inspire, challenge, and engage the Commonwealth through the gifts of the humanities. Through our Inspire Campaign, we focus on serving those whose access to the humanities is limited due to social, economic, geographic, or other reasons. Your contributions support programs that put library books in children’s hands and award low-income students with college credit.
Mass Humanities has met the NEH Challenge!
Mass Humanities was awarded a prestigious Challenge Grant of $425,000 from the National Endowment for the Humanities to establish a permanent Fund for New Communities.
Through the Inspire Campaign, over the course of 2012-2016, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and individual supporters throughout the state contributed more than $1,275,000 to meet the matching challenge for this permanently restricted endowment, which will provide funding for the Clemente Course in the Humanities and other programs that reach underserved communities in perpetuity.
We are grateful to the NEH, to the Commonwealth, and to all of our generous Inspire supporters whose contributions are now being used to support programs that put library books in children’s hands, award low-income students with college credit, and ensure that underserved communities will continue to be a top priority far into the future.
Contribute to the Fund for New Communities
Your contribution to the endowment is an investment in the future of high quality humanities programming that reaches underserved communities — and is very much appreciated! Enhance the power of the humanities to change lives and contribute today.
