A Legacy Continues-Ship Building in Essex

September 27 @ 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM EDT

Cost: Free

While like many costal New England towns Essex has always had it’s farming, manufacturing, and fishing businesses, shipbuilding was clearly the towns defining industry.  While the shipbuilding industry no longer defines the town economically, culturally it is still important to the community and the tradition of wooden ship and boat building continues in Essex.  Join us for a conversation with National Heritage Fellow Harold Burnham and a team of Essex shipwrights who have helped keep the tradition going and are hopeful for its future.  Led by Harold Burnham, Brad Story, Jeff Lane.
