A Reenactment of the January 1915 Suffrage Meeting at the Ames Mansion

April 11 @ 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM EDT

Cost: Free

The Brockton Public Library collaborates with the Ames Mansion, Borderland State Park to celebrate Blanche Ames, suffragist, activist, artist among other things she was active in the suffragette movement in Massachusetts. She fought hard for the equality to vote for all women. On January 13, 1915, a snowy winter’s day, she gathered a lot of local women together in her library at Borderland State Park to plot, plan and strategize to ensure that the ballot question would pass. A reenactment of the January 1915 Suffrage Meeting at the Ames Mansion in Easton will take place once an hour from 10am-2pm.
