A Sense of Where You are: Conversations about Leverett’s Historic Industrial Landscape and Community

November 9 @ 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Cost: Free

The Leverett Historical Commission invites you to an adventure! The remains of more than fifty water-powered mills from the 1770’s to the late 1800’s tell the story of Leverett’s thriving community. Will they play a role in the future of Leverett? Join us for a mill site visit, a talk by Tufts historical anthropologist Cathy Stanton, and a conversation on the past and future of Leverett’s early industrial landscape. We will carpool from Leverett Library promptly at 1 pm. Dress to be outside and walk on wet or uneven terrain for the mill site visit. Around 2:15 pm we return to the Library for the rest of the program.
