An African American Veterans Military Heritage Day Event

Celebrated military historian, Dr. John Morrow, Franklin Professor of History at the University of Georgia, will speak on The Fight for Equal Rights: African American Military Service in the World Wars.  Dr. Franklin received the 2019 Pritzker Military Museum and Library Literature Award for lifetime achievement in military writing.  His significant body of work is dedicated to enriching the understanding of military history and affairs. There will be a book signing after the lecture.  The Veterans and Friends of Gourdin Memorial Park with the Hutchins Center for African & African American Research at Harvard University is hosting this event.
