We Have Stories: Women in Fish (Rosemary Georgeson, 2013)

October 15 @ 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM EDT

Funded by Mass Humanities
Cost: Free

We Have Stories: Women in Fish is a twenty-minute documentary and community storytelling project about Indigenous women, water, and fish inspired by Coast Salish / Sahtu Dene storyteller Rosemary Georgeson’s experiences in the commercial fishing industry, and playwright Marie Clement’s longstanding project Women in Fish: Hours of Water. Directed by Rosemary Georgeson, this beautiful film illuminates the often-overlooked stories of Indigenous women in the fishing industry.  The film screening and a virtual discussion with the filmmaker will take place on Friday, October 15 at 7:00 p.m. over ZOOM.  This program is funded by a Bridge Street Sponsorship from Mass Humanities and is part of our year-long Women’s Work project.
