Zoom Suffrage Movie Series – Voices of Reform

April 29 @ 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM EDT

Funded by Mass Humanities
Cost: Free

As the Library is now closed for the foreseeable future, join us for the first movie in our Zoom Suffrage Movies Series for the next several months, Voices of Reform. We will all enjoy the movie on line at the same time, and then open up a chat session for all. If you are interested in participating in the event please email us at bpl.suffrage@gmail.com. We will send you a link for the “meeting.”

Part of The Unfinished Nation Series, this movie touches on the emergence of romanticism in literature and art. The transcendentalists and utopian societies. Reform movements that emerged from the Second Great Awakening. A closer look at the temperance movement, abolitionists moment and women’s suffrage efforts: their leaders and effects on each other.
