Rebrand and Website Redesign Partner

Introduction

Mass Humanities is seeking a partner to rebrand the organization and redesign our current website at https://masshumanities.org/.

Interested parties are invited to respond with a proposal to accomplish this task which includes timeline, cost, and deliverables.

The following website redesign RFP includes a background of our organization and describes the purpose of the redesign, its desired functionality, and specific requests relating to the proposal. We understand that details may be subject to change upon vendor recommendation and / or research of more optimal solutions. In your proposal, please feel free to suggest alternatives.

Once the website is redesigned and relaunched, our staff has the expertise to maintain and manage the website. Mass Humanities is also open to keeping the chosen partner on retainer to address any website issues that may arise.

Project Overview

Designed four years ago, MassHumanities.org and the current brand require a refresh look to reflect our current strategic plan (see here) and communication objectives. Our primary goals are to strengthen our online presence, build brand awareness and provide an overview of our services in order to provide credibility to our sponsors, partners, grantees and prospects.

Additionally, we want our redesigned website to reflect our culture and values to attract potential new grantees. The site is currently built in WordPress and we would like to continue with this platform but are open to alternative, if there are solutions that provides better functionality and ease of use.

We would like to be able to make minor edits to the content in-house so the back end needs to be user-friendly for hosting original content, blog posts, video, and other digital media.

Navigation on the website should include searchable areas for grant opportunities, news, events, fundraising goals, staff bios, etc. We’d like to build analytics into the new site for tracking, monitoring effectiveness and measuring future lead generating campaigns.

Mass Humanities is currently working with an outside consultant to create a unified voice for the agency’s storytelling across all platforms as a part of our rebranding efforts. The contracted partner will not need to provide any rebranding services during the website redesign.

Mass Humanities Background

Mass Humanities creates opportunities for the people of Massachusetts to transform their lives and build a more equitable commonwealth through the humanities. We do this through grants, programs, and partnerships with nonprofits around Massachusetts. Our work is made possible by the National Endowment for the Humanities, Mass Cultural Council, and the generosity of our donors.

Through these grants we support a thriving humanities ecosystem in Massachusetts. Humanities organizations and institutions serve towns and cities in every corner of the Commonwealth, creating free public events, innovative digital projects, and community conversations that bring people together to understand our shared lives and diverse traditions.

The primary audience and traffic to our website are those seeking grant opportunities. However, we’d like to expand our audience while showing the work of grantees more dynamically.

Budget Range

Mass Humanities is budgeting $50,000 for the rebrand and website, with a potential additional $10,000 for a social media and marketing related to the launch and any collateral materials. When constructing the budget, please list the website, social media and materials as separate components.
