OVERVIEW
Calafonas: Music of the Azorean and Portuguese Diaspora (1970–1980) is a transdisciplinary project centered on a documentary, music compilation, exhibition, and public programs. It tells the stories of Azorean and Portuguese immigrant musicians, exploring identity, belonging, and working-class life, while challenging dominant narratives by placing their cultural expressions at the center of conversations on liberty, representation, and resistance.
