Pleun Bouricius Pleun Bouricius

Pleun is the Massachusetts History Program Officer. She guides grant applicants through the application process, and also manages the Massachusetts History programs and projects. She holds a PhD in the History of American Civilization from Harvard University, where she taught American history and American literature.

Deepika is the Fiscal Officer. She manages accounting, budgeting, human resources and all of the Foundation's financial systems.

Tiffany is the Development and Communications Assistant. She processes donations, helps to write press releases for grants and upcoming events, and assists the Development and Communications Director. Tiffany graduated from Skidmore College in 1997 with a BA in English Literature and a minor in Women's Studies..

Kristin is Assistant Director of Mass Humanities. She oversees three programs: the Clemente Course in the Humanities, Literature & Medicine, and Family Adventures in Reading (FAIR). With Hayley Wood and Pleun Bouricius, she also advises applicants for grants. Kristin has a BA in English from Harvard and an MA in Fine Arts (art history) from Boston University.

Anne manages the website, the database and IT needs for the office.  Anne received a BA in philosophy at Mount Holyoke College.

John Sieracki

John represents Mass Humanities in donor relations and oversees fundraising appeals, proposal writing, and special events. He is also in charge of writing print and electronic communications such as press releases and other announcements, editing the newsletter, and ensuring a coherent brand identity. He earned his BA in English from the University of Delaware.

David has been chief executive officer of the foundation since 1985. He has a BA from Clark University and MA and PhD degrees from Rutgers University, all in Philosophy. David has taught at Rutgers College, the University of Wyoming, Mount Holyoke College and Amherst College and is the editor of an anthology, Reflecting on Values, The Unity and Diversity of the Humanities.

Melissa is the Administrative Assistant and Grants Administrator. She handles general grant questions, contact information, calendar items and office matters. She has a BA in Biology/Psychology from Wells College.

Hayley Wood

Hayley is a Program Officer and the editor of Mass Humanities' blog, The Public Humanist. She fields grant inquiries and helps potential applicants determine if their project is eligible for Mass Humanities' support. Hayley received a BA in literature from Marlboro College and an MA in literature from the University of New Hampshire.
